Ecuador
Introduction
We are partnering with the University of Maryland College Park chapter to develop connections in Ecuador for our first and future trips.
Project Leader: Linda Wan
Context
Ecuador has made an admirable effort to provide clean water to its rural areas. However, one disadvantage has been an increase in the amount of untreated wastewater that is released back into the environment. Our initial project aims to provide infrastructure to manage wastewater and to ensure that it is returned to the environment in a sustainable manner.

Plans
There are a couple of options for us for next year as a potential project in Ecuador. There are 2 towns in Ecuador in which they want classrooms. The other option is for us to work with University of Maryland College Park again, but on a bigger and hopefully better project so that we, JHU members, will be able to design and implement on our part.
