A Message from the President of EWB-JHU:
Welcome to EWB--where students, advisors, and professional partners strive to build a better world, one community at a time. EWB is about partnering with disadvantaged communities to improve their daily quality of life through the implementation of economically and environmentally sustainable engineering projects.
Last semester was an excellent wrap-up for the year with our 1st Annual Fall Fundraising Dessert Reception. Thank you to all of our sponsors and contributors. You have made a major difference in the communities we partner with and the development of our projects in Ecuador, Guatemala, and South Africa.
For this Spring 2009 semester, we have revamped our General Body Meetings into a Workshop/Seminar Series. We will be examining health and safety in EWB projects, working with concrete in an environment similar to our projects, learning surveying techniques, and introducing important project management skills and tools. We plan to upload the videos from our seminar series onto the website. For more information about our speakers or seminar series please visit our News section.
We are also continuing to find ways to fundraise for all of our projects in Guatemala, Ecuador, and South Africa. During Spring Fair at JHU (April 24-26), please visit our EWB-JHU table in the non-profit section, and for those of you over 21 stop by our beer garden table. There are other ways to donate, so please visit our Donate page for other ways to contribute.
Thank you supporters for believing in our cause to "Build a better world, one community at a time." Keep in touch, and I hope you enjoy browsing our website!
Sincerely,
Linda Wan
President of EWB-JHU
